"Be Grateful For What You Have"

A phrase that has been repeated time and time again by those in varying positions of society. We hear it from our parents, friends, and mentors, but often we forget to actually try to be grateful.

Yes, especially in a country like Canada, where many of us live very comfortable lives, we can easily get wrapped up in minor annoyances. This causes many people to become miserable with their lives, using substances and materials to try and fill the void of happiness that they are missing. Like many have said before, material items can only give you so much. There is a limit to the happiness gained from money.

This phenomenon is made even more apparent when we strip ourselves of these material things that we think matter so much to us. One begins to realize the things that really matter and how fortunate we really are. Of course, there are different levels in Canada, where some are much less fortunate than others. But as someone who is lucky enough to not have to worry about food, water or shelter, I am trying my best to be more grateful for the things I have.

On this week's episode, Daniel Lim, a very bright and kind-hearted student at U of T, sits down with me to talk about: Growing in Different Countries, Conflict Between Countryman, and Life Without Water.
