What Does a New Year Mean For You?

For some, a New Year means new beginnings. Some are trying to go to the gym more. Some are trying harder in school or work. And some trying for new and meaningful relationships. For others, a New Year is an indication to stay on your grind, keep waking up early, and to keep getting at it. And I think for all of us, a New Year forces us to reflect on what we accomplished what we lost.

To me, a New Year Signifies all of these things. 2021 was not the best year for me. Locked up due to Covid-19, school online and having a overall restriction on our daily lives. There were many times when I felt lonely or resented my courses. However, I was fortunate enough to be able to start a Podcast, go on campus for a semester and meet even more wonderful people.

So yeah, 2021 wasn't the best, but that won't stop me from making 2022 a much better year for myself. I will continue to work harder and harder in school, on The Way Podcast, and on myself.

In the very first episode of 2022 (releasing Sunday Jan 2nd, 2022), I will be talking with someone I met this year: Jeff Xia.

We met each other in line at Second Cup at Sidney Smith Commons in between classes. Soon after we met, we started talking and instantly connected on the idea of Discipline and Self-Motivation and how we both struggled with these concepts.

I learned a lot about Jeff. He is an athlete who is passionate about sustainability and Tech. He has worked on many projects that help make the world more sustainable.

So, I invited him onto the podcast to talk more about: Self-Discipline, Motivation, and Purpose.

Episode 13 of The Way Podcast w/Jeff Xia will be releasing this Sunday at 12pm on YouTube and Spotify! Don't miss it!

Happy 2022 everyone.
