Well, this is an episode I never thought I would film.
Previous episodes have featured close friends who I went to school with. However, this episode is something a little different. This week I have my long time Martial Arts Instructor: Kru Yai Nick Bautista. Since I was about 11 years old, I have been training the art of Muay Thai. Translated into English as "Thai Boxing", it is a Thai martial art based off of techniques of its ancient predecessor: Muay Boran. Muay Thai was created as a ring sport version of Muay Boran in the 1920's. Today, Muay Thai is a well recognized martial art from hobbyists to professional fighters
Since I started, Muay Thai has become a lifestyle. I don't go an hour without doing some shadowboxing, I frequently watch old fights and try to learn new techniques. This is why I was so excited when my Kru (Instructor in Thai) agreed to do this episode. He has a very interesting story and has been very important in my life. Kru Yai Nick Bautista is the founder of Brampton Muay Thai and a co-creator of the Trinity Health Collective. If you're ever in the area, I recommend that you check out Brampton Muay Thai or any of the other amazing services offer by Trinity health collective.
On this week's episode, we will talk about How we got into Martial Arts, What keeps us interested in them, and How martial art has impacted our lives.
